The Foundation
Just 4 Kidz was founded in 2002 by the members of the Stampede City Progress Club.
Stampede City is a small men’s service club that operates in the city of Calgary and is part of the national organization, The Canadian Progress Club. www.progressclub.ca Stampede City’s main focus is fundraising and Community service aimed at benefiting children’s charities in Calgary.
In existence since 1973 the club has raised millions of dollars for local children’s charities. Some of these include Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Camp Quality, Canadian Special Olympics and Alberta Children’s Hospital A.C.E.T.S. Program.
Stampede City’s premier fundraiser are Bowl for Kids in benefit of Big Brothers and Big Sisters www.bowlforkidscalgary.com and The Bullshooters Breakfast benefiting The Just 4 Kidz Foundation and the Alberta Children’s hospital www.bullshootersbreakfast.com .
Over the years Stampede City has been able to be a big contributor to many of these programs but was unable to commit long term sustainable funding to any one charity. This is why the foundation was established. By accumulating a pool of funds we have been able to commit to fixed amounts of funding to these charities that they can count on year after year. This allows the charity to focus on doing what they do best, helping the children and not on fundraising.
The foundation’s first commitment is $250 000.00 over 10 years to the Alberta Children’s Hospital A.C.E.T.S program. This will enable the Hospital to purchase two Eyefollower Systems. These high-tech computerized systems will enable children who are not otherwise able to due to physical impairment to communicate with their families and the people around them. |
